About

Hi! I'm Courtney Spivak- I am a filmmaker, audio recordist, educator, photographer and a musician. I grew up in the Metro Detroit area  and have been working creatively in film and video since 2002. 

I currently teach film and audio at several local colleges. I teach Fundamentals of New Media, Audio Production, and Video Editing and Field Production at Wayne State University's Media Arts Department, and teach K-12 STEM through the university's College of Pre- Engineering. I also  work at Henry Ford College in Dearborn teaching a Pro Tools intensive eight week Digital Audio Editing course, and a full semester Audio Production course. Recently I have joined the College for Creative Studies Pre- College and Continuing Studies teaching for their summer kids camps. 

 I have a few current projects outside of work , including my music project Cadriane, and my work as a sound recordist - The past two years I have had the pleasure of recording sound for several film shoots. In addition, I work creatively with local bands, providing styling, creative visuals, set design, photography and more!
